U.S. Citizenship & Literacy (TUT2)

Description
Welcome to Hartford Public Library's online U.S. Citizenship & Literacy instructional resource library for tutors. This suite of study modules is designed for language and literacy guides assisting clients in preparing for the U.S. naturalization interview, including by supporting speakers of languages other than English in studying for the reading test, the writing test, and the civics test most applicants must pass before becoming citizens.

Using the activities in this course, tutors and clients can work together to complete exercises focused on enhancing clients' English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, all of which are crucial to success in the naturalization process.

Throughout the course, tutors will provide tailored instruction to support clients in mastering the English language and civics knowledge requirements essential to successful navigation of the naturalization process. Tutors can select specific language skills or subject areas for their clients to focus on and are given the ability to approach areas of study in any order.

Each activity is designed to cover a specific aspect of the naturalization interview and test. This allows tutors to customize instructional sessions according to clients' individual and evolving needs and objectives.
